33 Week Bumpdate!

I'm growing day by day. Literally. My kiddos at school make it a point to make sure they tell me that I look bigger than I did the day before. Thanks ;o)

Today I'm 33 weeks 2 days, technically, but who is counting??

How far along? 33 Weeks!
(January 22 to January 28)
Size of baby: Baby is the size of a Pineapple!
Estimated 19 to 22 in., 4.9 lbs.

Here is what we have been up to this week:

Weight Gain: 45 pounds still as far as I'm concerned since I haven't been back to the doctor.

Maternity Clothes : Of course, also hubs' t-shirts :o)

Sleep: Same, still struggling. I wake up on average 3-4 times every night. It's a chore getting out of bed and getting back into bed. Since I am limited to sleeping on my side I have to switch sides often because my legs and hips go numb. I have to say that the number one thing I miss is sleeping on my stomach.

Best Moment of this week: maternity pictures and spending the weekend in Austin with your daddy. Probably the last weekend we will get to spend as just the 2 of us. We have something going on every weekend until you get here. We had dinner at The Oasis.

I love, love, love Lake Travis. I have so many wonderful childhood memories from there. Going to The Oasis is definitely one of them.

Movement: All the time. It feels like you are sleeping less in comparison to last week. You move now even when I'm moving around. Up until now, as long as I was up and walking around you were still. Now you respond to me when I poke around. Your movements are so pronounced that my entire belly shakes, it's like you can see limbs poking out. Soooo cute! And feels so weird! Haha

Food cravings:  Same. Nothing in particular. Just when I want it, I need it NOW.

What I miss: I can breathe now! He's dropped a little. The only thing I miss now is just being able to sleep. If we could get that under control then all will be well!

Symptoms: More stretch marks :o( A few Braxton Hicks every now and then, mainly at night, nothing too painful though.

Gender: Still all boy!

What I'm looking forward to: My 2nd baby shower this weekend in Brenham and being one week closer. :o)

 Baby bump:

Taken Sunday at exactly 33 weeks. I was exhausted from a day of traveling home from Austin.

YOUR BABY IN WEEK 33 OF PREGNANCY

Your baby is still gaining weight (about half a pound a week), and she could grow up to another full inch this week. With that much baby inside your uterus, your amniotic-fluid level has maxed out, which explains why some of her pokes and kicks feel pretty sharp these days. (There's less fluid to cushion the blows.) Antibodies are being passed from you to your little one as she continues to develop her own fetal immune system, which will come in handy once she's outside the womb and fending off all sorts of germs.

YOUR BODY IN WEEK 33 OF PREGNANCY

With midnight bathroom runs, leg cramps, heartburn, and your basketball-sized belly, it's no wonder sleep is elusive. 3rd trimester insomnia strikes about three-quarters of pregnant women (who may also be coping with a mind that races all night long thinking about your to-do-before-the-baby-comes list). But your body needs rest, so do your best to get comfy — before bed and when you get in it. Grab a pile of pillows, wedge them where you need to, and look on the bright side: Pregnancy insomnia is great training for those sleepless nights to come!

32 Weeks

I feel like I grew overnight from Saturday to Sunday. And I am sooo sad to say that a few ugly stretch marks are beginning to rear their ugly heads. Can we say surgery in the future?! Anyways, everything has been smooth sailing. I had a doctor's appointment this past Tuesday and Doc said we were right on track. I seem to think that we are ahead of the track, but I digress... We will have our last ultrasound the 31st of this month to check his growth. It feels like he is already out of room, but we have about 8 weeks to go. Although, I would be happy if he arrived March 1st. :o) I just want a March baby, it doesn't have to be the 11th ;o)

How far along? 32 Weeks!
(January 15 to January 21)
Size of baby: Baby is the size of a Honeydew Melon!
Estimated 19 in., 4.5 lbs.

Here is what we have been up to this week:

Weight Gain: 45 pounds, since we're being honest. Really though, my clothes are still fitting the same.

Maternity Clothes : Of course, also hubs' t-shirts :o)

Sleep: Struggling. I wake up on average 3-4 times every night. It's a chore getting out of bed and getting back into bed. Since I am limited to sleeping on my side I have to switch sides often because my legs and hips go numb. I have to say that the number one thing I miss is sleeping on my stomach.

Best Moment of this week: getting closer to having the nursery finished, our baby shower and I have to add last weeks, we finally saw you in 3d and you were soooo active and are (b)adorable, of course. I could watch the video and look at pictures of you all day long. We cannot wait to see what you actually look like.

Movement: All the time. You sleep a little more these days, but when you are awake, boy, there is no mistaking you. Your legs love to spend most of their time in my ribs, pretty sure they're going to have bruises by the time we are said and done. You don't kick so much anymore, they feel more like shoves, which leads me to believe that you are running out of room.

Food cravings:  Nothing in particular. Just when I want it, I need it NOW.

What I miss: Being able to take a deep breath. It feels like I am constantly gasping for air. Along with that comes, being able to put of my shoes and bending over, etc.

Symptoms: Shortness of breath, round ligament pain, and a few stretch marks :o(

Gender: Still all boy!

What I'm looking forward to: Maternity pics in Austin this weekend and getting away one last time with the hubs.

 Baby bump:

And a couple of 3D pics, these were taken at 31 weeks:

Your Baby in Week 32 of Pregnancy

What's up with your baby? She's starting to get ready for her big debut, tipping the scales at almost four pounds and topping out at just about 19 inches. In these past few weeks, it's all about practice, practice, practice as she hones the skills she'll need to thrive outside the womb — from swallowing and breathing to kicking and sucking. And speaking of sucking, your little one has been able to suck her thumb for a while now. Something else to note: As more and more fat accumulates under your baby's skin, she's becoming less transparent and more opaque.

Your Body in Week 32 of Pregnancy

This week, your body may start prepping for delivery day by flexing its muscles — literally. If you feel your uterus bunching or hardening periodically, those are practice contractions, otherwise known as Braxton Hicks. These rehearsals (typically experienced earlier and with more intensity in women who've been pregnant before) feel like a tightening sensation that begins at the top of your uterus and then spreads downward, lasting from 15 to 30 seconds (though they can sometimes last two minutes or more). How do you know these contractions aren’t the real thing? They’ll stop if you change position (try getting up if you’re lying down or walking if you’ve been sitting).

A bit behind, but catching up nonetheless :o)

So I realize that it's been awhile, but we have been busy bee's getting ready for our tiny's arrival, which might I add, IS LESS THAN 2 MONTHS AWAY!

Baby boy has been growing like crazy it feels like. We won't find out until the 31st how big the doctor estimates he really is.

So far I have had 1 shower, this past weekend, and it was awesome. This little boy is already so blessed and loved by everyone around him. We got so many great things! I have 2 more showers coming up, one at the end of January and one in the middle of February, I cannot wait! I get so excited like a little kid on Christmas. :o)

This next weekend we are going to Austin to have maternity pictures taken by this amazingly talented girl. I can't wait to see her! It has literally been since graduation in 2008.

I will leave you with some current pics of how the nursery is coming along and maybe a pic of the growing bump. :o)

This was taken at 30 weeks.

Blogger Fail :o(

I been a huge fail these past 2 weeks. I have been so busy between preparing for Christmas and surviving at school until the break, which, PTL, begins at 4 o'clock tomorrow! I absolutely cannot wait.

As far as baby goes, I can tell you that he is the size of a head of cabbage. This means, according to my 'What to Expect' app, that he is approximately 16 inches and 2.5 pounds. He feels much, much bigger to me. I was told at my last ultrasound at 20 weeks that he was measuring a little on the bigger side, but towards the end he should even out. He feels huge though, I have a feeling that he is just going to be a big baby.

I have my gestational diabetes scan Saturday at 8 am. What. Was. I. Thinking??? This could be quite possibly one of the worst times to have this done. I have eaten like crap this week due to it being the last week of school and my kiddos bringing me all sorts of candy, coworkers bringing treats and my secret santa bringing goodies as well. Not to mention we have our school breakfast and lunch feast tomorrow. FAIL. I'm screwed. I'm praying I don't have to do the 3 hour scan. :o( I find out my results Wednesday at my next appt.

Anyways, I must go finish making my Oreo balls for school tomorrow and get to bed. It's pretty much my fave part of the day because that is when little tiny is the most active. It's like he knows to wake up when I get into bed. But I know, I've been told that walking about during the day rocks him to sleep, and I hardly ever have time to sit, so I guess he finally wakes up when he can. :o)

I cannot wait to get out of school, I get to go pick up the rest of his bedding. And hopefully Mark will be able to finally finish the floors then the big parts will be done!

Promise to due my weekly update Sunday. Happy Friday and Christmas break!!!!!

Week 25

How far along? 25Weeks!
(November 27 to December 3)

Size of baby: Baby is the size of a large eggplant!

Here is what we have been up to this week:

Weight Gain: only 3 pounds in 1 month, which is way better than my 20 week appointment where I gained 15. Oops!

Maternity Clothes : A few more, jeans, leggings and a few shirts.

Sleep: Same.
It hasn't been horrible. I am a stomach sleeper so that's been a challenge. I have been sleeping with a body pillow for about a month, it just takes a little while to get comfortable.

Best Moment of this week: feeling you more and more, you have had the hiccups a lot lately. And FINALLY deciding on a name. Not sure if we're going to reveal it right away.

Movement: Still very consistent. I can definitely tell when you are asleep and when you wake-up. You tend to stay to one side, the right.

Food cravings:  Coffee. I just started having a little more caffeine than normal. I still get 1/2 caf. when possible though.

What I miss: Being able to put on my shoes without a struggle and not running out of breath as easily.

Symptoms: shortness of breath and lower back aches at the end of the day, and to add to the list, the round ligament pain. Doc said I have to get a maternity belt to help with the stretching...

Gender: Bouncing baby boy!

What I'm looking forward to: Painting is finished! Just a few touchups needed. Carpet was ripped out today and hopefully the wood floors will be started this week. I cannot wait!
 Baby bump:

The Baby in Week 25:
What's up with your baby? She now weighs a full two pounds and measures nine-plus inches. And this week, her eyes, which until now were developing under fused eyelids, start to open. Of course, there's not much to see in there, but if your baby spots a bright light (or hears a loud noise) near your belly, you may notice an increase in fetal activity. (“Hey, I'm in here, Mommy! Where’s the party!”) What accounts for that response? Her brain is more developed and sophisticated.
Feel like you're carrying the Karate Kid with all the kicking going on? Your baby is actually practicing all kinds of movements that will eventually be used in life on the outside — including pedaling against your belly, a sort of prewalking skill. As your baby's nervous system becomes more developed, the movements will become much more coordinated. And as the baby gets bigger and stronger, the movements will become much more powerful…and occasionally, even painful to you. If your baby lands a good one, that tiny left hook might hurt — a lot. Another trick she may try — stretching that leg out so far that the foot becomes lodged between your ribs (ouch). Next time you come under attack, try changing positions or doing some stretches of your own. You can also gently push your baby back with your hand when your knee-jerker jerks a little too hard. You just might be able to send your slugger back into the corner of the ring!

Your Body in Week 25:
If a full night's rest has become elusive, welcome to the (sleepless) world of pregnancy insomnia. Between heartburn and leg cramps, bathroom runs and that big beach ball (with its protruding navel!) beneath your nightie, it's no wonder your body's having trouble calming down and drifting off. But there are lots of tactics to try that should help keep you in bed (and asleep!) instead of pacing the floor; these include daytime exercise, a daily dose of fresh air, and limiting fluids before you hit the hay.

Introducing... Weekly Baby Updates! Week 24

So I realize I am a little in behind in starting these, but better late than never right?

Sundays are the days of the week when I start a new week of pregnancy. Today baby turned 24 weeks. Only 16 more to go!

How far along? 24Weeks!  6 months!!
(November 20 to November 26)

Size of baby: Baby is the size of an eggplant!

Here is what we have been up to this week:

Weight Gain: no clue... I have gained 22 so far, I go back to the doctor this Wednesday. I'm afraid of what the scale is going to show.

Maternity Clothes : Just jeans and larger shirts.

Sleep: It hasn't been horrible. I am a stomach sleeper so that's been a challenge. I have been sleeping with a body pillow for about a month, it just takes a little while to get comfortable.

Best Moment of this week: Daddy feeling you for the first time :o)

Movement: You've been making your presence known with me for a couple of weeks now, but your daddy got to feel you for the first time Thursday night! He finally stayed awake long enough after getting off of work. I love laying in bed at night, right before falling asleep and waiting for you to wake up. It's like you have figured out my schedule and know when to wake up.

Food cravings:  It has been cheese enchiladas, lately though nothing in particular. When I get hungry, I better eat fast, or else Mommy gets sick.

What I miss: Not being out of breath after walking up stairs (my classroom is on the 2nd floor).

Symptoms: shortness of breath and lower back aches at the end of the day :o(

Gender: Bouncing baby boy!

What I'm looking forward to: having the nursery finished. Daddy worked all weekend taping and painting. Next is the wood floors! I cannot wait to rip out the carpet!

 Baby bump:
This picture was taken last Monday. I was 23 weeks, 1 day. I'll take another tomorrow, I have already had my shower and I'm ready for bed.

The Baby in Week 24:
Your baby is about eight and a half inches long and weighs one and a half pounds, gaining steadily at a rate of six ounces per week. Much of that weight comes from accumulating baby fat, as well as from growing organs, bones, and muscle. Those little ears of his are getting sharper and can hear very loud sounds, from a yapping dog to a jackhammer. Also by now, that fabulous face is almost fully formed, complete with eyelashes, eyebrows, and hair. Is your baby a brunette, a blonde, or a redhead? Actually, right now her locks are white since there's no pigment yet.

Your Body in Week 24:
If your former innie is now an outie, welcome to the club. Almost every expectant mom's pregnant belly button pops at some point as her swelling uterus pushes on everything in its path. Things should return to normal after delivery, though your navel (and some other parts of your body) might look a bit, well, stretched. Just think of it as one more badge of honor that only moms get to wear. (mom doesnt think mine will pop- only flatten out which it is well on its way) ha! What other pregnancy woe is pushing your buttons? Well, probably your uncomfortably numb wrists and fingers, thanks to carpal tunnel syndrome. (Don’t worry — the sensations will disappear when you give birth.) yes, this happens some, though not often.

On a very exciting note... One of my favorite couples got engaged this weekend! Congrats guys! We (and baby) love ya'll so much! :o)
Go here to visit her wonderful blog! Let the wedding planning begin!
